The Flag says “New California Republic” (Fallout 2), so the Number is probably his Regiment, its #171, its on his helmet too. The Pipboy was probably stolen or just a hit that you will have a Pipboy in the game as you play.

What’s your problem? Some people liked Fallout from the beginning, many (who didn’t have access to F1 or F2 systems) got into the series with the third installment. Your not elite because you liked the series before 3.

@Domunication did not notice the pip-boy till you pointed it out. Then again he could have killed a vault dweller and took it off his body. They should make a Fallout with a character that was an Enclave soldier that turned good.

I’d tend to think old conflicts will be rehashed into this game. Oh look the audience is to young to even know how to get the old games running let alone know anything about them so lets not make anything new for the true fans of the games. *sigh* I like continuity in canon but I really hope its not all about one focus. Collapse and rise of groups happen all the time. One falls another fights the victor. Maybe we can see several groups rise and or fall and even a character neutral stance.
